The End of Another Season

Please Note: The Chianto by Sheila studio will be closed from March 10 to March 22, 2010. No orders will be taken and/or shipped during this time. In addition, e-mails will not be retrieved during this time period. The Chianto studio will re-open on March 23, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. CST.

The 2009-2010 season is coming to a close – for some, the season is over and thoughts have turned to next season; for others, there are still a few more competitions to go. For Chianto, it’s hard to believe that here we are closing out yet another very successful season.

For Chianto this past year has been all about growing pains, new challenges and multiple rewards. May 1, 2010 marks Chianto’s 12th anniversary; 2010 also marks 7 years of athletic performance apparel design and production. Growth and challenge often results in re-assessment which leads to new directions both on the website and in the studio.

This update is long overdue and is the beginning of a new direction for the Chianto by Sheila website. Included in this update are some new galleries within the Women and Girls product line – Women’s Flannel Pants; Women's and Girls' Practice Pants; Girls' Skirts; Women's Dresses and Clearance. A Testimonials page has also been added. Several other areas of the Chianto website are currently under construction and will be finalized and operational in the coming months.

In April of 2009 I had the opportunity to work with Shelley Jesseau of CTV Winnipeg to produce a “Do You Believe?” segment promoting the 2010 Olympics recently held in Vancouver, B.C. The spot aired on CTV Winnipeg from May 1, 2009 and ran in rotation up to and including the Olympics in February 2010. I would like to extend a special thank you to local skaters Jaime Wong, Darian Compton, Michelle Owen and Tiffany Owen for their participation in the filming process. This opportunity was truly a one-of-a-kind experience and we all had a blast.

Congratulations to Virginia Gudmundson of Saskatoon, Sask. on winning a $300 Chianto Gift Certificate in the Skate Canada-Saskatchewan Skaters’ Lottery. Also congratulations to A. Huberdeau of Thompson, MB on winning a fleece blanket and $200 Chianto Gift Certificate in the Skate Canada-Manitoba Sport Raffle.

Until next time …

Sheila
